About the team
The team from digital marketing and IT consists of 6 people backed by a digital Marketing agency. The team is young and eager to develop existing online channels and add new marketplaces for further growth.

Due to the projects and the ambitions the company has, they are searching for a Shopify engineer (full stack) with the main challenges in the backend (80% backend, 20% Frontend).

The team has a roadmap based on the estimated business value, time.
One of the challenges will be selling to markets in the EU in local currency. So new currencies needs to be added. Further performance optimization, improving search, adding functionality which leads to higher conversion rates and also integration with more marketplaces and connecting the email marketing system.

About you
We are looking for a senior Shopify engineer (full stack).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Customize and extend the functionality of Shopify using Shopify APIs and backend development tools.
• Integrate and configure third-party apps to extend the capabilities of the Shopify platform.
• Design, implement, and optimize the database structure to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Implement performance optimization techniques to enhance the speed and efficiency of the website.
• Develop, modify, and optimize Shopify themes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid templating language (not the main responsibility and task: you collaborate with to agency who is setting up FE templates)
• Develop and integrate custom APIs or integrate with third-party APIs to connect Shopify with external systems or services.
• Integrate and configure payment gateways for secure and seamless transactions.
  Ensure the security and integrity of the website by implementing necessary security measures and adhering to industry standards.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates, bug fixes, and monitoring for potential issues.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth integration of frontend and backend components.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Shopify and e-commerce development.

Your skill level:

• Proven work experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on Shopify development.
• Proficiency in Shopify platform, architecture, and backend development tools.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
• Experience with server-side programming languages like PHP, Ruby (Ruby on Rails) or PHP (Laravel or custom frameworks).
• Solid understanding of database management, including database modeling, optimization, and migration.
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
• Experience in integrating and configuring payment gateways such as PayPal, Stripe, etc.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and caching mechanisms.
• Understanding of security best practices for e-commerce applications.
• Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
• A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

What is important besides your technical expertise is your soft skills. You are an active listener meaning you are familiar with asking questions to get to know what is required and you understand when your team members need help, not only when they ask you for it. You can give technical advice in case needed.

As a person you have seniority (this is not about age;-) Your prefer a structured working style with attention to details. You are easy in connecting and collaborating with other teams members.

You have good communication skills (orally and written). You are experienced in working remote for English speaking customers. You know you better communicate too much than too little, with your team, to deliver your part of the platform.

English level
Your level of English conversation is intermediate+. You need to be able to discuss in English your ideas, proposals with your team, the CTO and stakeholders. If this is a problem you donot have the required level in English. Further you are a person who is curious and eager to learn and you take initiative. You are easy in connecting and collaborating with other team members.

Contract
Long term contract (fulltime or based on hourly rate).
Payment is within 24 hours after receiving invoice (We help you set up the invoicing)
Payment is net (Bank transfers are paid for by TechTalent4Growth)
